Seaham Town Council has entered the RHS Britain in Bloom 2016. Paul from the council was looking for volunteers to do a litter pick prior to the judge’s arrival, so he got in touch with Carol.

Six of us volunteered to help out, so on Tuesday 19th April we picked litter in three areas Eastshore around the shops and the diatoms on the green. The second was the clock and pit wheel going down the path to the beach.
The third area was Deneside Park which was fairly free of litter.
Some of our members planted daffodil bulbs here last year, they look magnificent, (Wordsworth would be lost for words) a carpet of yellow running along the side of the park by the children’s play area.
Wednesday we were all back at Deneside on a lovely sunny day to meet the judges, who were judging the floral displays in the park as well as in other areas of Seaham.

When the judging had finished we adjourned to the Council Offices for our lunch.

The photographs  are of the three judges, Carol and Paul from the council.
