As you know, we are scheduled to visit the new Spanish Gallery at Bishop Auckland on April 21st. I gather it is a beautiful exhibition space, housing the biggest and best collection of Spanish art outside of London , including works by El Greco, Velasquez and Murillo. This is a real coup for the region , but comes at a price. The admission cost is £14 and there does not appear to be any concessions , other than 10% for groups of 10 or more people, booked in advance. I can book immediately after our April General Medting, but would need to collect the £12.60 at that meeting , before I book it.

It would be most helpful if I had an idea how many people hope to attend, so I would really appreciate a reply letting me know if you intend joining us. The entrance fee also covers admission to the deer park but the other attractions such as the Mining Art Museum, the castle and the walled garden will all be open , but at an extra charge .
There is a wide range of eating -places in the immediate vicinity of the gallery , so it is possible to make a lovely’day out’ , making the journey  worthwhile!
