Our U3A gardeners have helped in a community project to win gold awards for Seaham, in the Northumbria in Bloom competition. The awards were presented to Seaham Town Council in the coastal resort section of the competition.

We helped plant (see photographs below) two raised beds with summer bedding in Dalton-le-Dale Park. We then went back the next day and pulled up lots of Himalayan Balsam, the plant is an escapee and very invasive. Great fun was had by all!
