We were blessed with fine weather yet again, lovely blue sky and warm sunshine, not wishing to tempt fate for next year’s party. Sorry Mabel!
There were about 80 at our party this year and I think everyone who attended enjoyed themselves, with or without a glass or two of Pimms. I heard on the grape vine we actually got though one gallon of this truly English beverage. I’m not sure how much wine was consumed but there is still enough left for our usual wine and cheese night later this year.
There was wonderful variety of food again this year, savouries, cakes and other goodies on show, the table never seemed to empty of these goodies, every-one is so generous.
The flower arrangements looked really pretty, a lot of thought had gone into their formation (if that is the word) they were a delight to see.
The Choir, from my inside knowledge had very little practice for their performance, but they did a sterling job, giving us renditions of some Geordie favourites, how they got their tongue around some of the words and phrases amazed me! Alan kept them in order and made sure they all finished together!
Thank you to everyone for making the day an enjoyable one and Mabel who gave up her lovely garden yet again.
