Our July walk led was led by Alan Smith who guided us along the riverbanks at Durham whilst also telling us the histories and other information about the bridges that span the river.

Our walking group enjoyed a splendid morning in Durham with a specific focus on nine of the bridges in the city. Nine members assembled at the Gala theatre in Durham before we embarked on a circular walk over an hour and three quarters in perfect weather conditions. The city was absolutely buzzing as it was graduation day in Durham and this added hugely to the ambience of the day. Overall, a smashing walk in a beautiful city with excellent company!
