Starting from Cornthwaite Park we navigated our way through Whitburn Village and on into open countryside, panoramic views on most of this walk are quite spectacular, stopping briefly at the derelict mill to read the information board then on past the Waterworks chimney and across the golfcourse. (Public right of way) excellent views as far north as the Cheviots to be seen from this area. Slight descent to the cliff top at Marsden then onward to our coffee break at Souter Lighthouse.

After this break we proceeded along the cliff path towards Whitburn with the gentle breeze wafting the smell of seaweed around us. The wild flower display as we neared our destination was rather disappointing compared to last year. Never the less a good walk enjoyed by all with excellent weather throughout.
