On Saturday 5th August, 40 of us went with Brit Movie Tours to visit locations from the TV series ‘Vera’.

We met at 12.30, eager to be on our way. We were lucky to have a super guide, who kept us amused with background information and gossip from the production, as we criss-crossed Newcastle and its surrounding area.

We viewed scenes on-screen on the coach, looked outside, and there we were, right at the spot in the film!

We found ourselves at the sites of arrests, interviews, car- chases and murders, to name but a few!

Towards the end of the afternoon we invaded the coffee shops of Whitley Bay (as frequented by Vera herself) for very welcome hot drinks and delicious snacks.
