We had wonderful day in sunny Harrogate on Friday with some members of the Patchwork Group, yes the sun shone for most of the day. I think someone was smiling on us from above because the rain started after we were on the coach coming home.
The Christmas Market was interesting with loads of different stalls from purveyor’s of the traditional pork pie and very good they were too, to a lady who was making wooden kitchen bowls and utensils with some fearsome looking implements. They even had a donkey and a couple of reindeer as well, the red noses were missing but apparently they only appear on Christmas Eve!
We left at 4.45pm so we got to see the Christmas lights, all the trees lit up, not quite as good as Blackpool but they were impressive, the main feature looked like a blue waterfall/fountain.
I would like to thank Jean and her group for inviting Carole and I, and also Sunderland U3A for organizing it.
